'2nd Korea Cold Chain Industry Awards' for contributions to the development of the cold chain industry Hankook Mycom, Korea Cryogenics, and H.E.U. Logistics won the 'Champion Award' 2024/03 ![]() At the 2nd Korea Cold Chain Industry Awards, held by the Korea Food Cold Chain Association on the 28th of last month, Korea Mycom, Korea Ultra Cryogenics, and H. U Logistics received the Champion Award. The Challenge Award went to M2Cloud and Americas Haiti, while the Startup Award went to MVEeCold and Green Earth. The Korea Cold Chain Industry Awards recognizes companies and individuals who have contributed to the development of the cold chain industry through the development and operation of excellent cold chain systems. Korea Mycom, a leading company in the field of industrial chillers, was recognized for its contribution to the realization of carbon neutrality and ESG management of cold chain companies through the distribution of highly efficient and energy-saving cooling systems using eco-friendly refrigerants. The company has developed an ammonia (NH3)-CO2 brine type chiller that uses natural refrigerant to reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated by the use of HFC-based refrigerants, and provides a real-time temperature control system with a remote monitoring system for refrigeration facilities. The company also exports facilities such as cold chain chillers, and was awarded the US$10 million export tower last year, contributing to the globalization of the cold chain industry. Korea Cryogenic Pyeongtaek is the first in Korea to operate an ultra-low temperature warehouse utilizing LNG (liquefied natural gas) heat at -162¡É. During the COVID-19 outbreak, Pfizer's vaccine, which must be stored at temperatures below -70¡É, was stored and distributed in full at the ultra-low temperature warehouse at -85¡É, contributing to securing the safety of the public. We also operate a hydrogen fuel cell that generates hydrogen from vaporized NG (natural gas) after cooling and heating and generates electricity through a chemical reaction with oxygen in the air. This has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 30% compared to coal-fired power generation, and the company has installed solar power generation facilities on the rooftop to reduce electricity costs for refrigeration and cold storage by using the power generated during peak hours. H U Logistics was recognized for its contribution to the export of fresh food, the development of high-tech industries, and the globalization of the cold chain by stably performing international logistics of various items that require cold chain temperature management, such as semiconductor materials and secondary batteries required for national infrastructure industries, as well as agricultural and livestock products and pharmaceuticals. In particular, the company conducts PTI (Pre Trip Inspection) to manage temperature from the pre-transportation stage. Through this, we manage the temperature of all vehicles and refrigerated and frozen containers transporting cold chain products throughout the transportation process and prevent damage to products due to container defects, breakdowns, and temperature deviations during maritime transportation. In addition, it operates a road tractor that uses LNG at Busan Port and participates in MOLIT's green logistics conversion project, and has introduced an eco-friendly transportation system to save energy and reduce carbon by equipping all vehicles with non-dynamic air conditioners. M2Cloud is the first IoT security certification company in Korea, and provides real-time visibility and data integrity technology for the entire supply chain based on IoT security technology, and cold chain services for quality assurance of temperature-sensitive products. In particular, it has digitized the logistics system of the entire supply chain from import, storage, and distribution of vaccines to medical institutions. In addition, it digitized the biological product submission certificate, which was previously a paper document, and applied it to the corona vaccine logistics service to improve the cold chain logistics process. In recognition of its excellence in vaccine logistics services, the company was selected as a provider of integrated logistics system and service for COVID-19 vaccine this year following last year. |
